About the Author(s)

Editor George Childs Kohn has developed and prepared general-interest and historical reference books for nearly 30 years. He has a number of reference works to his credit as either editor or author, including The New Encyclopedia of American Scandal and Encyclopedia of Plague and Pestilence, all for Facts On File. He has also helped edit language dictionaries and worked as managing editor of multi-volume student encyclopedias. He lives with his wife in Madison, CT.
