About the Author(s)
Tony Allan studied history at Corpus Christi College, Oxford, and has made a career writing and editing books on the subject. He was series editor of the 24-volume Time-Life History of the World, and is one of the principal writers on the Reader's Digest Illustrated History of the World. He has also written extensively on the Far East, archaeological history, Chinese mythology, and modern Chinese history.
